Get Home Safe Holiday Tips

We thought Ontarians might appreciate some ‘Get Home Safe Holiday Tips’ this year! The holiday season is in full swing and with it comes the ‘let loose’ attitude that many people adopt as Christmas cocktails are knocked back and exuberant holiday cheer is felt by many. However, if you are a driver, what are your options if you want to attend that office party but don’t want to drive home?

Ride-share is your friend!

Leave the keys behind, find the best ride-share option available to you (Uber, Lyft, etc.)and use it to your advantage. If there isn’t a ride-share program in your area you may find there is a volunteer service such as Operation Red Nose or a municipal program that offers transportation services to part goers.

Hosting a party? Be responsible.

If you are hosting a party keep an eye out for your guests and don’t be afraid to stop someone who you think is too intoxicated to drive. Have a local taxi number on hand just in case you have a few “I feel fine” candidates!

Get Home Safe Holiday Tips – The Morning After

Sleep bares very little impact on the body if it’s full of alcohol, so don’t assume you can go to bed intoxicated at 2am and then be fine to drive at 7am the next morning. If you need to be at the office for work, book that taxi or Uber and remember your aspirin.

Above all, have a safe and happy festive season and from all of us here at My Hunter we wish you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best for the New Year!
